Aleksandar Zaplatić, Savremena’s year 11 student, secured his place at the next, state round of competition by achieving remarkable results at this year’s regional geography competition. In a tough competition of more than a hundred students, Aleksandar managed to earn 73 points and find his place among the best young geographers in Serbia.
Competition host and exemplary contestant
This year, the regional round of the competition was held at Savremena. In addition to competing in a familiar and pleasant environment of his school, Aleksandar had the important role of host and school representative.
With his remarkable achievement, he proved that Savremena is a place that provides all the necessary conditions for accomplishing excellent results and cherishing talent and knowledge.
Hard work and devotion – ingredients for perpetual success
Since Aleksandar participated in last year’s state competition, he proved that he was ready to face new challenges. Owing to his hard work and thorough preparation with his geography teacher Ivan Matejić, Aleksandar achieved an even better result than last year, showing that hard work and devotion pay off.
The next step for him is the state round, which will take place on 19, 20 and 21 May in Belgrade. We wish Aleksandar the best of luck in achieving his next goal – a place at the International Geography Olympiad.
