Savremena Gimnazija celebrated St Sava's Day on 27 January.
This day has been celebrated as the schools' patron saint since 1840, in honor of St Sava, also known as the Enlightener, the first Serbian educator and the man who introduced Enlightenment ideas in our country. The Slava bread was cut in the lecture theatre on the 4th floor, with the observance of all epidemiological measures.
After the ceremony, winners of the St Sava competition were presented with appropriate awards and commendations.
Savremena Gimnazija continues the ideas of the Enlightenment
The Enlightenment is focused on the future, progress and the desire for change which is precisely what the most progressive secondary school in Serbia stands for. The concept of education nurtured at Savremena Gimnazija, modern technologies and a truly different approach to education undeniably classify Savremena among future-ready schools.
Although we keep up with all the latest educational trends, and strive to introduce them into our practice, Savremena also wants to follow in the footsteps of the first Serbian educator – St Sava, promoting the preservation of the ideas of the Enlightenment, and continuously improving its educational principles. Savremena is a combination of tradition and modernity, which is the main reason why more and more students eager to acquire knowledge in a modern way enroll in our school every year.
