This year, the 11th edition of the Night Marathon, the oldest and largest night marathon in the country and the region, was held on the last weekend in June. Savremena’s Year 12 student, Aleksa Stanilović, completed the marathon (42.2 km) together with our extracurricular activities coordinator, Uroš Krstović.
The marathon traditionally organised by the athletic and recreational club Fruška gora from Novi Sad, took place in a positive atmosphere, putting smiles on the faces of both the runners and the audience.
Starting packages, races, and time limits
Before the race, the contestants were given shoe bags, T-shirts with the logo of the 11th Night Marathon, bib numbers with a chip, finisher medals, refreshments and potential gifts from the sponsors.
The event comprised the following races:
· marathon (42.2 km, 6 laps),
· half-marathon (21.1 km, 3 laps) and
· mini-marathon (7 km, 1 lap).
The races were designed so that even the slowest runners could finish them without problems and without interrupting the organisation. The time limit for the marathon was six hours, four hours for the half-marathon, and one hour for the mini-marathon. You can read the report from last year's Night Marathon HERE.
In addition to his notable results in athletics, Aleksa is a successful voice actor who dubs popular cartoons. We wish him a lot of success in all fields!
