The Savremena Gimnazija students had the opportunity to meet the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences research associates in their physics lesson.
The Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences was established in 1948 as the scientific research centre of the most up-to-date issues in physics, chemistry and biology. Today it is a multidisciplinary scientific institute covering a large number of scientific, technical and technological disciplines.
Besides doing the demonstration experiments that deal with decomposition of water through electrolysis and Faraday’s laws of electrolysis, the Savremena Gimnazija students had the chance to be in the role of experiment conducting physicists while together with their teachers and the Institute research associates, they succeeded in doing the experimental exercises dealing with the same topic.
Working in teams, doing experimental exercises and applying scientific approach, the students raised awareness on the importance of hydrogen as a prospective fuel of the future and its advantages and flaws.
