The students and teachers of Savremena Gimnazija painted the premises of the Preschool institution „Veverica” (Squirrel)

Thanks to the donation of ROMA Company and selfless help of the two art teachers Maja Živković and Tanja Gligorijević, together with 15 students of Savremena Gimnazija, the inside walls of kindergarten Veverica (translator’s remark - Squirrel) were painted. The kindergarten is in Galenika (a part of the city).

'ROMA Company' continues to support a long lasting practice of socially responsible operating through close cooperation and investments into the local community. The donation of material for the kindergarten maintenance was meant to enable the little ones to feel joy and spend time in a pleasant atmosphere of the new ambience. In cooperation with artist Maja Živković and the students of Savremena Gimnazija we pointed out again the importance of mutual projects for the benefit of the local community, said Jelena Anđelković, the marketing director at ROMA Company.

The realisation of the action undertaken by art teachers Maja Živković and Tanja Gligorijević was assisted by Savremena Gimnazija students, and thanks to their creativity and enthusiasm the entire concept was created and a new dimension introduced into the children’s world.

The students and teachers of Savremena Gimnazija, supported by 'ROMA Company', enabled children and the staff of kindergarten Veverica (Squirrel) to tell their story through paints. The starting point was in stories of all individual groups, which lead to creating a picture and then its transformation into symbols, painted by our students and artists on the walls of the kindergarten’s central hall. Mutual effort of these children and artists made the learning process visible so as the values instilled from the infant to school age. The display of the children’s stories and the map which shows a number of routes to various places and different kindergarten-age-group, thanks to the artists’ engagement, enabled other participants in the programme (parents and other members of the community) to see and recognise the values of the community in which the children are growing up, said Maja Živković, the arts teacher at Savremena Gimnazija.

The mutual action of ROMA Company, the artists of Savremena Gimnazija, the children and kindergarten teachers provided a fresh new look of the kindergarten premises, making the young children’s games there livelier in a new visual world, filled with colours and pictures, which stimulate development of creativity and imagination. Maybe, one day, some of them will become painters or fashion designers, copywriters or graphic designers…There are many jobs in which creativity is very important. Young children and the employees at the kindergarten now have a more beautiful place for hanging out and creating memories with their buddies.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
