Students of Savremena Gimnazija won third place in the language competition at Singidunum University

Savremena Gimnazija participated in the language competition organised by the Anglistics Study Programme at Singidunum University.

The competition was fierce – more than 30 student works have been submitted, Most of them were written in English, and the rest in French, Serbian and Russian. The jury, which consisted of three English language teachers, one proofreader (for the English language), a French teacher and a Russian language teacher, had no easy task.

Students of Savremena Gimnazija, Lara Veselinović, Klara Petrović and Aleksa Dimitrijević, won third place in the category of works written in Serbian. Their mentor was teacher Maja Merdović.

On Friday, 12 May 2023, starting at 11 am, an International Day was organised at Singidunum University, which all competition participants could attend. On that occasion, they had the opportunity to talk with students from 26 countries, attend the official announcement of the winners and celebrate Erasmus+ week.

"It was a real pleasure to watch and listen to how creative, smart, socially aware and noble the students are. The decision was very difficult", said the representatives of Singidunum University.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
