Presenting abstract concepts in a simple and fun way: contemporary philosophy
"How do I know I'm not dreaming right now? Can robots be sad? What should I do if I have a crush on my best friend..." In philosophy class, students tried to answer these and many other questions. They not only had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the main topics and goals of this science but also realized that abstract concepts can be presented in a simple and fun way—through music, film, comics, etc. At the end of the class, the philosophy teacher, Marica Đurić, asked the students present if they might already be philosophers in everyday life.
Latin language "everywhere and in everything"
After an interesting philosophy class, the Latin language teacher, Natalija Stanković, introduced students to myths about Dedalus, Icarus, the Minotaur, and Theseus. After learning some new facts and demonstrating their knowledge of mythology, students tested their knowledge in the online world, trying to remember all the concepts they had learned in class.
Between chemistry and magic
Together with the chemistry teacher, Jelena Zelenović, students had the opportunity to first observe and then perform experiments such as creating artificial blood used in the film industry and the color spectrum in an experiment called the chemical chameleon. During the experiments, the teacher took the opportunity to recap knowledge about electrons, solutions, and the names of instruments used during the experiments.
Fine arts in a truly different way: visiting Pompeii
The art teacher, Zorana Milićević, brought the story of ancient Greece closer through examples from art history, videos, and reproductions. Students also had the opportunity to ask and find answers to questions such as: What is art? Can a drawing be a line on our palms? Why is it important to know and cultivate cultural heritage? What are contemporary artistic practices? After that, through digital creativity, or applications, students will create their art. In this way, they will have a product through a blend of tradition and modernity.
