About the Global Smart Education Conference

The Global Smart Education Conference is a leading event that brings together innovative educational institutions, researchers, and technology experts from around the world. It is organised by Beijing Normal University (BNU), a prestigious university in Beijing specialising in educational and pedagogical sciences. Founded in 1902, BNU is one of China’s oldest and most renowned universities, recognised as a leader in education, pedagogical research, and teacher training.

The conference highlights educational initiatives that leverage technology and innovation, awarding accolades in categories such as Research Innovation, Practice Innovation, and Technology Innovation. The Global Smart Education Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in this field. Given the increasing integration of new technologies into classrooms, the prize is awarded to organisations driving the most innovative and effective initiatives.

Why did Primary School Savremena win this award?

The “Pepper in the Classroom” project introduced the Pepper robot into classrooms, creating an entirely new dimension of teaching. With Pepper’s ability to recognise emotions and enable dynamic interaction with children, lessons have become more personalised and engaging, addressing the needs of each individual student.

Key benefits of this project include:

  • Increased student engagement: Pepper’s interactivity makes lessons more dynamic and motivates children to actively participate in class.
  • Improved learning outcomes: With the help of artificial intelligence, students receive instant feedback, improving their understanding and retention of material.
  • Development of metacognition: Working with the robot enhances awareness among students and teachers of their learning and teaching processes.
  • Technological literacy: The project provides a foundation for developing technological skills essential for the future workforce.

Innovations in Education: The Key to the Future

In a rapidly changing world, education must keep pace with new trends and technological advancements to prepare children for the challenges of the 21st century. Innovations in education are not a luxury but a necessity. Children entering classrooms today must be equipped for a world that is increasingly digital and technologically advanced. Primary School Savremena recognises this need and offers students a cutting-edge educational framework that not only prepares them for the future but also guides them through the learning process using the latest technologies.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
