Savremena students’ creativity at its best

The elective subject Art & Design is fully based on project-based learning and teachers at Savremena Gimnazija do their best to present creativity and applied arts to students in an interesting fashion. Proof of this is the Make a Music Video project, which shows not only our students’ creativity but their ability to create content, as well.

The most interesting part of the project is undoubtedly that it allows students to get to know each other better, learn about different sensibilities, approach the same topic and discover how much potential they have. Together with teachers Tamara Rajinac and Maja Živković, the students watched different videos and analyzed the relation between music and video, video recording and processing techniques, complementation, why videos are popular, why some are pleasant to watch and some aren’t, etc. The videos were carefully chosen so as to give students the best possible guidelines to complete the task in hand. In teams, the students were supposed to create a video for a music piece of their choice. This way, the students developed their organization and cooperation skills, teamwork, analysis and synthesis skills, critical thinking, digital skills, and responsibility for the end product. The fact that the students could choose a song for the video, the method and the program, made them even more interested and engaged and contributed to the overall end result.
