Savremena Gimnazija’s Year 12 students are enjoying an exciting day of outdoor lessons.
Their first location is Lazar’s Canyon, where they will enjoy a viewpoint and perform field tasks on the river bank.
Savremena’s students will continue their field trip at Bor Lake, where they will take a walk and learn about paleovolcanic terrain.
The next destination is Brestovac Spa, where they will have a break and get to know the spa and its mineral springs.
Outdoor lessons entail interdisciplinary blending of multiple subjects and fieldwork, i.e. practical application of theoretical knowledge gained in different subjects through observation, measurements, and project realisation. Year 12 students’ interdisciplinary lessons include the following subjects: Serbian Language and Literature, English, Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, History, Maths, and PE. In groups of 3–7, each class performed observations, collected and recorded information.
Outdoor lessons allow one to learn in an interdisciplinary, interactive and fun way, turning Savremena’s students into enthusiastic scientists and researchers.
