The Savremena Gimnazija seniors celebrated the end of their four-year schooling in Savremena Gimnazija on June 18 and our Savremena Gimnazija journalist Lara Veselinović shared her impressions of the event.
As it happens every year, there comes the time when one generation of students enrolls in secondary school, while the other completes their education. So the generation enrolled in the 2017/18 school year officially graduated on Friday, June 18.
The ceremony started at 7 p.m. in the ceremonial hall of the hotel Hyatt , New Belgrade.
Numerous guests attended the ceremony, besides the organisers, there were parents, friends and directors of other educational institutions of the LINK Educational Alliance.
All the attendees enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and appropriately celebrated the graduation.
Dressed in ceremonial graduation robes and hats, the students received their diplomas, and at that point, as future undergraduates, they addressed the audience.
Out of 108 students in the generation, fourteen of them received the Vuk diploma, while some of them received crystal award for their achievements during the four-year schooling.
A very special place in the programme belonged to Dunja Mićunović, our valedictorian.
Dunja’s speech, in which she singled out some jokes of her generation, wished everyone happiness on their future path and thanked her grandpa who had always been there for her, was so emotional that the eyes of some guests were filled with tears.
It wasn’t only Dunja’s speech which made a great impression, but headteacher Mika Keser’s one as well. The headteacher addressed the students first, wishing them a lot of success, and then turned to their parents, thanking them for their trust.
Also, a special part of the evening which made the biggest impression was the one when the video produced by class teachers of all six classes was played. The teachers prepared a variety of valuable advice for their students.
Teodora Ćirković, a IV-1 student also made the video, showing their special, truly different four years of schooling.
We sincerely wish happiness and success to this generation of seniors!
