The students of classes I-2 and I-4 participated in the workshop entitled Good manners in everyday communication with people with disability, conducted by educational counsellors Jelena Jović and Aleksandar Bogdanović on behalf of the Hendi centar Koloseum from Belgrade, together with our school counsellor Ivan Davidovićem.
Disability is not an obstacle to success
As Aleksandar Bogdanović represented the Serbian Association of people with hearing impairment, our students had the opportunity to hear about the experience of a person with disability and realise that a disability does not present an obstacle to be successful.
The aim of the workshop was to encourage students to establish and maintain communication with people with different kinds of disability on an everyday basis. Besides, our students learned about different types of problems people with disability come across as well as the ways in which they can help people with disability in case some help is needed.
What our students learnt on this occasion was that it is important to focus on the personality and not on his/her disability!
The organisation of the workshop was supported by the Sector for the Persons with Disabilities Care of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs.
