Aleksandar Zaplatić’s courageous performance at the Geography Olympiad

IMG_0546At the end of May, with his geography teacher Aleksandar Zaplatić visited the Radanjska banja mineral spa, near Mali Zvornik, where he took part in the second National Geography Olympiad.  At this intense yet interesting competition, Aleksandar gave an impressive performance, thus attaining 69 points which is a great achievement.

The competition included a test comprised of the knowledge attained in all three years of secondary school, which was rather challenging for Aleksandar given that he is only in his first year. The competition cycle lasted for a couple of days and it was both physically and mentally demanding but Aleksandar was able to overcome all the difficulties and shine through his readiness and dedication.

In addition to the knowledge he demonstrated, Aleksandar was able to spend time with his peers from all around Serbia and gain some valuable experiences. Savremena International School is proud of Aleksandar’s success and wishes him all the best in his future endeavors, so that he may continue to surpass his personal best.

Tara Papić, the successful linguist

IMG_0150Last weekend was quite the challenge for Tara Papić but it also brought her great success at two different competitions at the national level, those of course being the English and Serbian competition. On Saturday, our hard-working student won the second place at the English competition and on Sunday she impressed with her knowledge of Serbian at the competition in Tršić.

In Tršić, Tara was able to visit the home of Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, his museum and take a walk through the birthplace of the most important reformer of the Serbian language.

In this academic year, Tara showed a true competitive spirit and thrilled and impressed us all with her readiness, wish to develop and meet new challenges. We are proud of Tara and we hope that she will continue to take part in competitions and become even more successful.

Encouraging a competitive spirit

Savremena International School encourages its students to take part in various kinds of competitions and develop their ambition. Each competition is a valuable experience because it tests their endurance first and foremost as well as their knowledge and skill level in a particular discipline.

Savremena International School students worked very hard this year and demonstrated that they can achieve what they aspire to, that of course being constant development, and for that we are very proud of our young bright minds.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
