Board Games Day and German lesson at Goethe Institute

On Thursday, 20 April, Savremena’s students visited Goethe Institute, the German Cultural Centre, to attend Board Games Day organised by the Institute’s library and language learning department. This event was held as part of the activities which mark the celebration of World Book Day, and Savremena’s students were among those who had the honour of attending.

Creative games – incentive for learning German

On 23 April, the world traditionally celebrates World Book Day, which is why Goethe Institute hosted an event celebrating knowledge and learning in an unusual way that is already well-known to our truly different students. The activities the visitors could take part in were intended for different levels of German, and Savremena’s students performed excellently.

The students had the chance to develop their language skills by playing Ein Wochenende in Berlin, a game which enabled them to have a virtual walk around Berlin and get to know its landmarks, while fun memory games helped them expand their vocabulary. Savremena’s students attested to the richness of their vocabulary, and put their perceptual skills to the test in the Geistesblitz game.

A different approach to teaching for better results

Learning through fun board games isn’t unusual at Savremena International School, as they have proven to be the most efficient and interesting learning method which students love.

Every day, Savremena’s students have a chance to expand and revise their knowledge through fun and educational quizzes and, being aware that students learn best when they are motivated and interested, teachers at Savremena constantly design and improve approaches that facilitate learning and make it easy and fun.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
