Ice skating instead of regular PE lessons

International School Savremena’s students were given the chance to showcase their acrobatic skills on ice, as the school substituted regular PE lessons in the gym for ice skating for two weeks. Needless to say, everyone had fun.

Let’s go skating!

This winter activity is met with enthusiasm and excitement at Savremena. Some of the students were thrilled, some of them not so much, but all of them had a lot of fun, that’s for sure.
All students were committed to the activity. Some had a shaky start and had to hold on to each other, however, it wasn’t long before they mastered the skill.

By the time the lesson was done, the students were tired and their heart rate was up but most importantly, they gained additional skills.

Ice skating as a lifelong activity

Ice skating is a challenging and rewarding lifetime activity that can improve the students’ cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance, balance and coordination, gross and fine motor skills, as well as their social skills.

Savremena’s students enjoyed this winter activity which has numerous health and fitness benefits. Until next time!

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
