Savremena’s Y10 students discover successful learning methods

In October, Savremena’s pedagogue, Ivan Davidović, held a lecture for Year 10 students entitled “Learning Methods and Techniques”.

The goal of this lecture was to introduce students to the steps of active learning. Active learning is learning through work, task completion and personal action. A quote from Benjamin Franklin best describes its essence: "Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember; involve me and I will understand." Savremena’s Year 10 students also learnt how they can improve the factors of successful learning – their abilities, work habits, motivation and learning methods. They also learnt about successful organisation and efficient time management techniques, so as to increase their productivity and efficiency.

The lecture is included in the annual plan for Year 10 students, in accordance with the newly-adopted education strategy which focuses on the students’ holistic development and encourages them to achieve academic excellence and develop healthy personalities.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
