The Serbian language lesson Savremena Gimnazija style - the literature on Instagram

The Savremena Gimnazija Seniors applied again their knowledge of Serbian language and literature in a creative way. Their task was to design an Instagram post in which they would provide their recommendations on a number of literary works. This way the students got reminded of the works they had read while exchanging experience with regard to different literary tastes.

“Having read the classic literature earlier, the students shaped their understanding very precisely, providing clear arguments on what they had learned from the novels “The Stranger”, “Crime and the Punishment” and “The Damned Yard”. Some students also selected the quotations that made the strongest impression on them. Their idea was to use the visual power of Instagram in order to familiarize potential readers with these works and convince them why these very works have resisted the passage of time. Besides, what the students demonstrated was the possibility to interpret literary works again and again in different forms, even through social media networks”, said Marija Spacić, the Serbian language and literature teacher.
