Savremena Gimnazija students successfully participated in an international project.
Savremena Gimnazija first-graders took part in an international “Xtreme addictions” eTwinning project whose goals were learning about addictions characteristics and designing the activities which could be used as preventive measures against drug addiction in youth.
The project “Xtreme addictions” included seven schools from six countries - Poland, Turkey, Portugal, Spain, Ukraine and Serbia. The project lasted for eight weeks during which the students demonstrated a very strong will to maintain their active participation despite regular school work and extracurricular activities. The project participants were Vuk Radojković, Teodora Vučić and Matej Petrović from the class I-1, Aleksandar Kašerić, Klara Petrović and Iva Nikolić from I-2, Jelena Žarković and Milena Žarković from I-4 and Sara Šarančić from I-6.
The project activities were led by the school counsellor Ivan Davidović and the school psychologist Aleksandra Rakić.
The students were truly committed to presenting their country and school, and they got to know about other partner countries and schools. In the following weeks they learnt about kinds of addictions and their features as well as institutions that provide support in addictions treatment. The end project products were posters/songs/stories which were meant as a tool for raising awareness of the fact that there are addictions, while sending the message across regarding potential prevention measures and interventions and providing support to the young.
