The students of the Savremena Gimnazija Combined Programme had the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology park on Zvezdara as a part of their Cambridge Business subject.
Accompanied by their English teacher Milica Aleksić and business teacher Marija MIlić they listened to the inspirational introductory talk when they learnt about the concept of start-up company and the role the Science and Technology park has in creating such companies. After that, through a mini workshop, the students learnt about SCAMPER technique applicable when searching for innovations and, finally, they had a task to create their own business idea and present it to the workshop trainers. Given the fact that they were allowed to work only 15 minutes, they needed to produce creative ideas fast, apply what they had learnt, demonstrate entrepreneurial dedication and, above all, to work as a team.
Our students demonstrated an impressive prior knowledge regarding business, which helped them showcase their ideas with confidence and valid arguments.
We would like to thank the workshop trainers one more time for having us at the Science and Technology park and for the commitment they demonstrated towards our students.
Savremena Gimnazija students thrilled with the visit
While listening to the talk at the Science and Technology park we learnt something new about designing a new business, what are the first steps towards that. I really liked that we didn’t have to listen to a traditional lecture, but we participated actively and applied our own ideas.
Sara Šarančić, Year 1
This was one of the best field trips our school has organised for us. What I really liked was I understood how good it is to have some prior knowledge on business and that it is what we need for doing the business in future. We received commendations from our trainers who said that sometimes even undergraduate students don’t know the answers to the questions asked, but we knew. What was especially interesting was that each group approached the problem in different ways, reaching different creative solutions as they focused on different target groups.
