An interesting talk on Methods and techniques of studying meant for Year 1 students

Savremena Gimnazija education counselor, Ivan Davidović, held the talk on the Methods and techniques of studying for Year one students.

The aim of this talk was to make students familiar with steps of active learning. Active learning is the one that happens while we do things, carry out tasks and also involves an individual’s action; its main point can be understood and illustrated by the quote of well-known Benjamin Franklin: Tell me, and I will forget, show me and maybe I will remember, let me join you and I will understand. Savremena Year 1 students also learnt how to enhance factors that contribute to successful learning – their skills, work habits, motivation and studying methods. Besides, they have learnt about task prioritisation and time management techniques designed to help them become more productive.

This talk has been incorporated in the annual school working plan for Year 1 students and is in compliance with newly adopted education strategy, which has at its core holistic approach to students with the aim to encourage development of a healthy personality and academic success.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student.
