Savremena Gimnazija students’ success at Best in English competition

Savremena Gimnazija students Boris Ilić, Iva Petković and Nikola Dimitrijević ranked among the first 100 secondary school students in Serbia at the international online English competition Best in English, while Savremena Gimanzija ranked tenth in our country. At this year’s competition there were more than 17,000 students from 595 schools and from 32 countries.

Focus on functional knowledge of foreign languages

Being the school oriented at truly different comprehensive and high-quality English educational practice, Savremena Gimnazija is focused on instilling functional knowledge of foreing languages in its students. Every year we put a lot of effort in providing our students with opportunities to compare their knowledge with the one of their peers from other countries.

More than 30 of our students participated in the competition Best in English – the fact which demonstrates that our students are not only more interested in English, but feel confident regarding their language skills and wish to compare them with peers from all over Europe.

We congratulate all the participants hoping that the next year, there will be more registered competitors, who will make even better success.

Contemporary in any sense of the word, our school offers functional knowledge and quality preparation for tertiary education in Serbia and abroad. Implementing modern and creative teaching in the classroom, where the teachers’ pedagogy and students’ performance are aligned with the highest academic standards for the high-school finals, our school develops linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, cultural, technical and ICT competence, which is a prerequisite for further education and professional development.
