Broadening horizons by developing critical thinking, analytical situation evaluation and viewing the world through other people’s perspective
This conference provides students with the opportunity to learn something new and acquire experience relevant for their academic, social and professional growth. The participants of this major project get acquainted with the functioning of international organisations, but also grow personally. Developing critical thinking, analytical situation evaluation, formulating arguments in compliance with the assigned role and not with their personal attitude, which leads to observing the word from someone else’s perspective, are all skills that will benefit Savremena Gimnazija students a lot in decision making regarding their academic and private life.
Participation at this conference will impact students’ shaping the views of the world, which will not be limited by the perceptions typical of society and culture they are growing up in. Broadening of the horizons will let students grasp the complexity of world social dynamics. Besides, learning about the geopolitical issues and different positions, students will grow to become conscious citizens of a democratic society, aware of the problems affecting all the people globally.
