Savremena Gimnazija students visited the Eco-awareness event on International Day of Forests

On Monday, 21 March, Savremena Gimnazija students, together with their teachers, visited the event Eco-awareness, organised on International Day of Forests by University Singidunum’s Environment and sustainable development studies.

In the course of the event a panel was organised with the following participants:

Jovan Memedović, a journalist and TV programme author 100% natural;
Predrag Jović from Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) ;
Prof Dr Jelena Milovanović, University Singidunum’s Environment and Sustainable Development studies professor.

Quiz Call of the Wild

After the panel, some of Belgrade grammar schools students had the opportunity to take part in the Quiz about Nature. Our students excelled in the quiz, and were awarded the trip to the Special Nature Reserve Obedska bara, which was a part of the Singidunum University field trip. The students who got the award were Aleksandar Kašerić, Minja Ćirić, Vanja Radunović, Teodora Pavlov and Nađa Pevac.
After the quiz, the best environment-related essay writer competition winners were announced and Savremena Gimnazija students were among the competition participants.

Planting trees to celebrate International Day of Forests

The last and maybe the most beautiful activity was the one entitled Trees of eco-awareness, during which the students of each school planted a tree to celebrate International Day of Forests.

We are glad that by participating in the event Eco-awareness, we demonstrated once again that by observing eco-friendly school principles, students, teachers and other school team members, through their daily activities, contribute to preserving the environment and raising awareness of the importance of activism in this field.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
