The workshops meant for secondary school students and organised by the European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations were held at Savremena Gimnazija as a part of the campaign Better Together.
The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness among young people of the problems induced by discrimination whether related to race, gender, religion, health or at the personal level. The workshops also had as their goals to help development of empathy for discriminated people as well as to encourage the young to take initiative and actively engage in fighting discrimination and creating inclusive communities. It is the fifth time this campaign has been carried out in Serbia and another 12 European countries.
Our secondary school students had the opportunity to extend their knowledge of the following topics:
- racism;
- religious and gender-related discrimination;
- discrimination of people with disability;
- peer violence.
The students worked on developing strategies to overcome discrimination.
