The students of Savremena Gimnazija, from the class III-1, with their class teacher Marica Đurić, attended the conference "The future has arrived, are we ready?", which is organised for the second year in a row by the SPREMMA movement "Kapetan Miša Anastasijević" (SPREMMA – Pokret za Savremenu PReduzimljivu Edukaciju Mladih "Kapetan Miša Anastasijević”).
Excellent opportunity to develop critical thinking
By participating in the lecture "Where is this life going?" students had the opportunity to critically consider new trends in life and work, hear more about the professions of the future and discuss whether the education system, in general, corresponds to the competencies that will be necessary to develop in the future.
The discussion was led by Goran Milićev, a biology professor at the XIV Belgrade Grammar School, who is also the president of the SPREMMA movement. The presentation was designed as a comparative analysis of what was expected of workers in the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as the attitudes and mindset of Generation Z on the one hand, and Millennials and Generation X on the other. Also, there was a discussion about the changes in the way of work that occurred after the coronavirus pandemic.
Thus, it was pointed out that those changes would certainly happen at some point in the future, but the epidemiological situation only accelerated that process.
Students of Savremena Gimnazija were delighted with the lecture and pointed out that they really liked the fact that they also actively participated
In the second part of the lecture, the students had the opportunity to hear the opinions of the guests of this lecture, but also to ask them questions. The guests were: Mirko Mitrović, experience lead at the company "Microsoft Development Center Serbia", Edo Bratović, general manager of the company "Mokrin House", and Marijana Bratović, architect and business manager at ZDL studio.
The lecture was also attended by Nebojša Bjelotomić, general director of the non-governmental organisation Initiative "Digital Serbia", who shared his observations on this topic. Through this type of education, the students had the opportunity to adopt the main idea and vision of this movement: "With our ideas and work, we strive for a different reality in which young people in Serbia actively build their knowledge and abilities, motivated by a sense of meaning and purpose in what they do, as well as the awareness that they contribute to the well-being of their people and humanity, preparing to take initiative and responsibility in a rapidly changing world".
We are really proud of the initiative of the students from class III-1 to attend the conference, broaden their horizons and acquire the knowledge necessary to function in the modern world!
