Students of Savremena Gimnazija visited another Book Fair

This school year as well, students of Savremena Gimnazija visited the International Belgrade Book Fair, the 65th in a row.

The students enjoyed searching for their favourite literary genres, types and titles with their Serbian language and literature professor Marija Pilčević Tomašević. One of the goals of Serbian language and literature professors at Savremena Gimnazija is to develop a love for reading in students and help them find their own literary tastes. The Book Fair is one step closer to achieving that goal. This year, Natalija Davidović, technical secretary of the school, joined the students and Serbian language and literature professor.

The largest regional cultural event dedicated to books

In the calendar of cultural events of Southeast Europe, for decades, the central place belongs to the International Belgrade Book Fair. This regionally largest cultural event dedicated to books deals with promoting literary creativity and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and addressing current literary and social issues.

Informally known as the book festival, every year, the Book Fair hosts the most important domestic and numerous foreign writers and publishers, who present their old editions and current productions.

An important feature of the Book Fair is the rich supporting programme. Through numerous promotions, presentations, lectures, round tables and panels, the participants present a number of topics important for literature, publishing and culture to a professional and general audience.
