A visit to the exhibition of Kiki Smith, one of the key artists of the world art scene, proves that students of Savremena Gimnazija have the opportunity to attend various events in our city, but also that the teachers know how to include all current events in the curriculum. The exhibition "Humans and other animals" presents works of art created during the multi-decade creative career of this important artist: from the 90s of the last century, when the artist mainly dealt with the subject of the human body in various aspects, to works from the 2000s, in which she focuses on animals, fables and nature.
Our students are richer for a new experience and a new perception of works of art
Art professor Zorana Milićević, the initiator of the visit, and English teacher Milica Aleksić designed the project task and led the students to get to know art, which left a great impression on all of them.
Although they did not know the artist's oeuvre and did not know what to expect, after seeing the display and with the explanations they received from the curator, everyone left richer for a new experience and a new perception of the works of art. With that, they successfully completed the project task and presented the exhibition to their friends in their own way.
In anticipation of new cultural events in the city, our students express their creativity almost every day through numerous school activities that include art and design.
