On Wednesday, 10 May, a field trip was organised for our graduates. The destination, like the previous school year, was Novi Sad – the European Capital of Culture for 2022.
On their way to Novi Sad, the students visited the Krušedol Monastery on Fruška Gora, as well as Sremski Karlovci, where the First Serbian Grammar School was established. In Novi Sad, the students explored Petrovaradin, tested their skills and physical fitness at Adrenaline Park, and then used their free time to enjoy the beauty of Novi Sad and explore the city for the needs of their project.
Students of Savremena Gimnazija as tourist guides
Namely, before the trip, the students were given tasks that required skills they will definitely need in the future. They had to organise a three-day visit to Novi Sad and its surroundings for an assigned group of tourists according to their profiles and allocated budget. To successfully complete the task, they needed to analyse the tourists' profiles and what Novi Sad can offer in terms of culture and history, as well as entertainment and cuisine. The most important part of the task revolved around the budget and developing financial literacy and money management skills, which will undoubtedly be useful to students, especially if they move away from their family home for studies.
We are confident that this last field trip provided students with new experiences and taught them valuable lessons in resourcefulness, perseverance, and most importantly, friendship.
