The Society for Classical Studies of Serbia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Department of Classical Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, organised a Latin language competition that gathered participants from all over Serbia at the Faculty of Philosophy. Among them, Savremena Gimnazija was represented by:
- Maša Janković, student of II-6;
- Iva Pešić, student of II-5;
- Sara Vitezović, student of I-6;
- Teodora Miletić, student of I-7.
The students achieved excellent results thanks to their dedication, hard work and developed language skills. The points they earned were not enough for the top three places, but that does not diminish their achievements.
All the students showed great determination to do their best in the competition
Latin language teacher, Natalija Stanković, said that it was a pleasure for her to prepare these wonderful and diligent students. She emphasised that they all showed great determination to show their best at the competition. They are an example that one should not shy away from the "dead language," as students often call it, and that they should not fear it. Latin is everywhere and in everything, and only those who feel it can achieve excellent results.
We congratulate Sara and Teodora on their achievements and wish them the best of luck in their future work, which, we are certain, will lead them to an even better ranking next year!
