On 3 November, Savremena graduates visited the National Assembly. Philosophy teachers Marica Đurić and Uroš Mihajlović led the students of all four grades on a tour of the highest representative body of the Republic of Serbia. Due to the students’ great interest in this visit, they filled out a survey in which they demonstrated their existing knowledge of the National Assembly, explained their motivation for participating in this project and listed questions they would ask a member of the parliament. The selection was based on open-ended questions, as they imply an understanding of the political system of the Republic of Serbia, as well as developed (critical) thinking.
A representative from the Educational Center of the National Assembly acquainted the students with the history of this institution, its architecture, historical facts and the way the Assembly functions as the holder of constitutional and legislative authority in the Republic of Serbia. On this occasion, Savremena graduates visited the large plenary hall, small plenary hall, diplomatic salon and the grand hall.
Savremena graduates will, with the help of entertaining multimedia content, engage in peer education
All photo and video materials created during the visit to the National Assembly will be used by students to create short video reports in which they will present the National Assembly. This will be done within the project teams they formed after the visit. In this way, Savremena graduates will, with the help of entertaining multimedia content, engage in peer education, in addition to developing interdisciplinary competencies for responsible participation in a democratic society and gaining practical knowledge in subject areas such as sociology, philosophy, civic education, history, individual, group and society, and language, media and culture. In editing video materials, students will use their knowledge of computer science and thus enhance their competencies in the fields of fine arts and art and design.
The best students' video reports will be published on the school’s website at a later date. Until then, enjoy their photo gallery.
