Classroom on stage: Savremena Gimnazija students explore the importance of integrity
The performance combined dramatic and comedic elements, standing out not only for its entertaining and engaging storyline but also for its deep, conveyed messages about opposing tyranny, hypocrisy, and blind obedience. Particularly noteworthy was the character of the Austrian emperor, played by the famous actor Irafan Mensur, whose performance amused and delighted the audience.
The students particularly identified with the character of Lieutenant Nidrigen, who refused to waltz at the final exam of the Military Academy, thereby demonstrating his consistency and courage in defying authority. Svetozar Putnik, one of the students, made a keen observation that he would like to be as consistent and self-assured as Lieutenant Nidrigen.
This performance not only provided the students with exceptional entertainment but also encouraged them to reflect on important life principles and values. Savremena Gimnazija is proud of its students who have open minds and the ability to recognize deep messages in art.
