The second-grade students of Savremena Gimnazija recently embarked on an exciting study trip to Vienna, which took place from October 5 to October 9, 2024.
Day 1: Belgrade – Vienna
The group gathered at 5:30 AM, and the bus departure for Vienna was scheduled for 6:00 AM. During the journey, the students enjoyed beautiful landscapes, passing by Subotica and Budapest, with short breaks for rest. Upon arrival in Vienna, the students began their city tour, known for its rich history dating back to Roman times. Vienna was the capital of the Habsburg dynasty and home to great composers such as Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. As part of the panoramic sightseeing, they visited landmarks such as the Opera House, the Natural History Museum, the Imperial Palace, the Parliament, the City Hall, and many others. After a tiring day, they enjoyed dinner and settled into their hotel.
Day 2: Vienna – Schönbrunn Palace and Belvedere Palace
After breakfast, the students visited Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburgs, which boasts beautiful gardens and a zoo. They then proceeded to Belvedere Palace, built by Prince Eugene of Savoy.
Day 3: Vienna – Natural History Museum and Museum of Music
After breakfast, the students visited the Natural History Museum, where they explored rich collections of natural history. The tour continued at the Museum of Sound and Music, where they had the opportunity to engage with interactive exhibits and even conduct the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
Day 4: Vienna – Prater
The fourth day was reserved for free time, which began right after enjoying the attractions of Prater, a famous amusement park. The students used their free time for individual exploration of the city and to enjoy all the charms of Vienna.
Day 5: Vienna – Pandorf – Belgrade
On the last day, after breakfast, the students headed to Pandorf, and after their visit, they began their journey back to Belgrade, with short breaks along the way. They returned to Belgrade in the evening, filled with impressions and new knowledge.
This study trip enriched their understanding of Vienna's culture and history, while also strengthening friendships among the students, leaving them with unforgettable memories.
