Students of Savremena Gimnazija participated once again in the photo tour for the award competition "Wiki Loves Monuments". Accompanied by Professor Nevena Matejić, students from class IV-5 visited fascinating locations in the center of Belgrade, photographing the Palace "Albanija", the National Theatre, the National Museum, the Army House, Student Park, Captain Miša's Edifice, Knez Mihailova Street, and Hotel "Moscow". During the tour, they had the chance to hear interesting stories about these sites.
Exploring Street Art and Monuments: A Unique Belgrade Photo Journey
In another award photo contest, "Wiki Loves Public Art and Tombstones", students took the opportunity to photograph numerous landmarks throughout central Belgrade. Among these were the monuments to Vasa Čarapić, Branislav Nušić, and Dositej Obradović, as well as the Delijska Fountain and the "Pyramid" in Knez Mihailova Street. A particularly intriguing aspect was photographing street art known as "flaking", which involves filling gaps in the pavement and sidewalks with various decorative tiles. Belgrade is one of the few cities in the world that can boast this form of street art, and the students of Savremena Gimnazija captured the most beautiful shots.
The photo contest "Wiki Loves Monuments" runs until October 31, while "Wiki Loves Public Art and Tombstones" lasts until December 15. This is an excellent opportunity for students and lovers of art and monumental architecture to get involved and contribute their photographs. As always, we wish our students success and look forward to the results, which will be announced by the end of the year.
