On October 21, first-year students from Savremena Gimnazija, accompanied by Religious Studies teacher Ana Marjanović and Philosophy teacher Slobodan Rodić, had the opportunity to visit the Ascension Church. This visit allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of Orthodox tradition and the significance of faith and spirituality in the cultural identity of the Serbian people.
Exploring the Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Orthodoxy
The students showed great interest throughout the presentation, asking questions about the church’s role in the community and the distinctive aspects of the Orthodox faith. Their active participation highlighted the significance of the topic.
After the visit, students expressed positive impressions. Many noted that the event was interesting and well-organized, with particular attraction to the church’s historical and artistic aspects. This visit offered a valuable opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge from lessons with real cultural and religious heritage.
The teachers also emphasized that the visit was an important educational addition to regular classroom activities, as it provided students with a firsthand experience, offering a broader understanding of the role of religion and culture in everyday life.
