As part of the "Stress-Free Adolescence" programme, we hosted parents at Savremena Gimnazija, where they had the opportunity to attend two insightful lectures given by our psychologist Aleksandra Rakić and physical education professor Stefan Radojičić, alongside psychologist Ana Mirković.
Practical Advice for Adolescents' Everyday Challenges
The main focus of the lectures was on the everyday challenges and issues adolescents face while growing up. Through a practical approach and numerous real-life examples, we shared valuable insights on handling adolescent challenges, particularly those involving communication with parents, teachers, and peers. Special attention was devoted to basic life needs, such as food and sleep, as well as the importance of engaging in sports and physical activity.
Communication in the Digital Age: Challenges and Tips
Ana Mirković spoke about communication in the digital age, the time young people spend on their phones, and the importance of appropriate, timely, and directed communication with parents. The lectures were educational, practical, and emotional, as the audience comprised parents who are caring for and navigating this challenging time. As Ana Mirković emphasised, it has never been harder to be an adolescent or a parent. The universal advice for overcoming obstacles during this period of life remains love, attentive listening, and dedication.
The Strength of Unity and Support Through Shared Experiences
Although we spent a wonderful two hours in discussion, it felt like we were just beginning. The topic was vital, and parents responded wonderfully to each example mentioned. It was clear that everyone shared common ground, facing similar challenges, which brought a sense of relief.
We are proud to have organised these lectures and plan to continue gathering with the same goal – to support our students and provide them with encouragement and guidance!
