In honour of the International Day of Immunology, which is celebrated all around the world through various fun and scientific activities, last week our students took part in an interactive workshop on immunology at our school's amphitheatre.
Learning about the human body in a fun way
At this fun workshop, students found out how the human body develops its immune system and what cells work hard to keep us healthy. Assuming the role of a certain type of cell, our students learned how they can contribute to curing the body of certain diseases and discover what processes take place inside us every day.
The workshop was lead by a team of researchers from the Immunology Department of the „Siniša Stanković” Institute for Biological Research who taught our students how our immune system is explored and researched.
At the end of the workshop, our students had fun in a quiz where they demonstrated all the things they learned about developing and maintaining a strong immune system.
The importance of science in health
The immunology workshop also made students aware of the dangers and risks that our modern lifestyles come with along with the importance of staying healthy.
It’s with classes like these that Savremena International School strives to show its students the fun side of science and to help them grow into healthy young adults, who know that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
