ACT structure: four secondary school academic areas and one optional essay

ACT questions are related to the areas covered in secondary school. The test comprises four multiple choice sections and an optional essay.

The test is in English and comprises these four subjects:

  • English – Writing test
  • Maths
  • Reading test
  • Science Reasoning

The tests are taken in the above-mentioned order. The final ACT score (Composite Score) takes the average score of all individual sections. ACT score refers to the composite score, and it is important to stress that the test report contains the scores of all individual sections (English, maths and reading).

How is the ACT scored?

This is a highly demanding test. The duration of each section is 30-35 minutes, with the exception of the maths test that lasts for around 60 minutes. The total number of points in the test is 144, i.e. 36 per section. Through proper and timely preparation, students can achieve notable results in the test.

The ACT is offered five times a year: in September, October, December, April, and June. Students can take the test multiple times until they achieve the desired score (superscoring).

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
