Uroš Tirnanić, Y10 student at Savremena Gimnazija, has continued his extraordinary run of literary achievements. At the 2020 edition of the international literary and art contest “Šantićeva reč”, the inspired Uroš won first prize for poetry (secondary school) in a fierce competition of students from Serbia, Republika Srpska, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.
Savremena’s poet impresses with his prowess
In 2019, Uroš won second place at the Saint Sava literary contest for students of primary and secondary schools in Serbia, Republika Srpska and the diaspora, with a paper entitled “Sava’s Footsteps Spread Across His Homeland”. In December, at the literary competition “Young Guardians of the Serbian Folk Culture”, which welcomed 190 participants from the country and abroad, Uroš won first prize for his poem “Why Don’t You Speak Serbian, Son?”.
Uroš is a hard-working and responsible student of Savremena Gimnazija. He has made impressive results in all literary competitions in which the school participated. Uroš’s Serbian teacher spotted his talent and encouraged him to develop it.
