On Wednesday, 11 May, the class III-4 had an interdisciplinary lesson entitled How the Hellenic period changed the ancient world. The lesson was held in English and the guest at the lesson was Guillermo Alamo, a PE teacher from the Canary Islands. In the course of the lesson, the students and our guest could hear how the philosophical schools that appeared during the Hellenic period influenced everyday life of people of that time.
Stoicism and hedonism played an important role in the life of the members of high society in ancient Rome, but indirectly they influenced the rest of the society.
Ancient Greeks come alive through comics
Our students had a task to make ancient Greeks come alive through comics, meaning the students were required to design comics in which they would demonstrate the reactions of hedonists and stoics to some life situations. The interdisciplinary lesson was held by philosophy teacher Uroš Mihajlović and sociology teacher Jelena Spasojević.
