The future necessarily involves paying attention to sustainability, from its social, economic, and environmental perspectives, thereby guaranteeing human rights and prioritising and improving the development environment.
Starting from the fact that at this moment, education is the basic pillar that promotes the values of sustainability in all social spheres and sustainable entrepreneurship, Savremena Gimnazija strives to additionally educate its employees in the field of sustainable development.
"Sustainable entrepreneurship – educational organisations that value the social and environmental dimension of development"
As part of the Erasmus+ project "Boosting sustainable entrepreneurship and new methodologies in education in SAVREMENA GIMNAZIJA", pedagogue of SAVREMENA GIMNAZIJA, Ivan Davidović, and philosophy teacher Marica Đurić, together with teachers from the "Acad. Prof. D-r. Asen Zlatarov" High School of Nature Sciences and Mathematics with a focus on mathematics, software and hardware sciences and foreign languages (Bulgaria), and colleagues from the Foundation that supports the inclusion and diversity of disadvantaged people "Nem Adjuk Fel Szociális Szövetkezet" (Hungary), attended the training course "Sustainable entrepreneurship – educational organisations that value the social and environmental dimension of development, organised by the educational centre Inercia Digital, Spain.
Thanks to this KA1 Erasmus+ mobility project, they had the opportunity to enjoy five-day learning mobility in the south of Spain, in Andalusia, with educational experts from all over Europe. The main goal of this project is to include not only economic factors but also cultural and social development and environmental protection in institutional strategic goals.
Thanks to the theoretical-practical sessions, the participants understood the meaning and dimensions of sustainable entrepreneurship and were encouraged to implement innovative projects that consider socio-environmental issues, assess risks and predict solutions.
Achieving sustainable results in daily educational actions
Not only will they use the knowledge gained in the course in their own work, but they will also transfer it to other colleagues and thus spread knowledge and skills that enable teachers to implement their own sustainable strategy, but also to obtain sustainable results from their daily educational actions.
As an example of good practice, the course participants had the opportunity to have a look at the "Sustainability Classroom" of the University of Huelva, where they came across various techniques and activities that enable and promote sustainability.
