Students of Savremena Gimnazija in the role of student reporters at the World School Basketball Championship

The World School Basketball Championship for high school students was held in Belgrade from September 20 to 28. The students of Savremena Gimnazija were once again in the role of student reporters. Read the impressions of our young reporters and Marina Kuzmanović, professor of Serbian language and literature and head of the Journalism School Club.

"I love meeting new people, and projects like this make that inevitable"

Although I had the opportunity to attend the World School Basketball Championship for only one day, it was a wonderful experience. I love meeting new people and projects like this make that inevitable – that's why I'm very happy every time I get the chance to be a part of something like this. In primary school, I played basketball recreationally, so this role came in handy by reminding me of the "old days". Also, I am very glad that I shared this day with another class member, Aleksa Dimitrijević, who is a participant in a project of this type for the first time, and, of course, also with Aleksandra Mosurović, who already has experience in these types of projects, said Lara Veselinović, a third-year student at Savremena.

"I am grateful that I was given this opportunity"

It was better than I expected! As a new member of the Journalism Club, I didn't know exactly what to expect, but I had a lot of fun, learned new things and met new people. I am grateful that I was given this opportunity and I hope that my class teacher Marija Janićijević is proud of me. I'm looking forward to the next project, said Aleksa Dimitrijević, a third-year student at Savremena.

"This is the only way to convey the atmosphere from the field"

I love the 'Student Reporter' project and will support it as long as I am a student, and even later, because only in this way can the atmosphere from the field and the feelings of the participants be conveyed, regardless of defeat or victory, as well as their thoughts and impressions about everything they have seen and experienced here in Belgrade. This is how all of us together send a clear message to all the children who have not started playing sports to start training, because, despite school obligations, great results can always be achieved, even at the world level, said Aleksandra Mosurović, a graduate student at Savremena.

I am proud of my students, I am proud that they always look forward to participating in such projects and presenting themselves and the school in the best possible light. I like their enthusiasm, sense of responsibility and the fact that I know they will always be up to the task, said Marina Kuzmanović, head of the Journalism Club.

Journalism Club: a dynamic extracurricular activity for everyone who thrives in challenging situations

Journalism Club is an extracurricular activity that brings together students who want to do journalism. Members of this club deal with current affairs and search for valuable and interesting information. They will have the opportunity to interview students who have achieved significant results in various fields, such as sports, art, literature and natural sciences, and will also participate in the "Student Reporter" project. In addition, they will learn how to write news for the website. This club is dynamic and will be of interest to anyone who manages well in challenging situations.
