Savremena Gimnazija accepted the invitation sent to all school librarians to participate in the sixth campaign of the Serbian Library Association "Čitajmo glasno" to celebrate World Book Day on 28 February.
The goal of this joint activity is to encourage reading, connect the school library and the school with the local community, connect with institutions and associations that deal with affirming culture and art, as well as promoting the work and cooperation of school librarians – was posted on the website of the Serbian Library Association.
Students read and interpreted their favourite verses and prose fragments
The organiser's suggestion was that the reading should start at five minutes till noon (11.55), which would symbolically send a message that it’s about time to start nurturing reading and culture in general. Savremena Gimnazija went a step further, so on 28 February, students in almost all Serbian language and literature classes read their favourite verses or prose fragments, interpreted them, explained why those verses or prose fragments were their favourite, recommended books to each other to read, etc.
We would like to share with you some videos and photos of Savremena’s students who, by joining the "Čitajmo glasno" campaign, contributed to achieving the goal of this campaign, which is to spread awareness about the importance of books, reading, education and culture in general.
