Great basketball success of Savremena Gimnazija student Stefan Spalević and his club

Student of Savremena Gimnazija Stefan Spalević is successfully training with the MEGA MIS club. His position is shooting guard (2, 3). Before the start of the league competition, which involves the top 12 clubs in Serbia, three qualification matches were played. In order to qualify for the Cadet League, Stefan and his teammates had to defeat the club Zemun, followed by Partizan, and finally KK Radnički.

The league started with the qualifications on 29 September 2022 and concluded with the final match on 30 April 2023. The league stage of the competition began on 29 October 2022. Stefan's club was the first on the scoreboard. They played two matches against each club, and in one of the matches, they were the home team.

The clubs they played against were:

  • PARTIZAN, Beograd;
  • BORAC MOZZART, Čačak;
  • VOJVODINA, Novi Sad;
  • CRVENA ZVEZDA, Beograd;
  • Džoker, Sombor;
  • ČAČAK 94 QUANTOX, Čačak;
  • DYNAMIC VIP PAY, Beograd;
  • BEKO, Beograd;
  • SLOGA, Kraljevo;
  • SPD RADNIČKI, Kragujevac;
  • KONSTANTIN, Niš.

Out of a total of thirty played matches (three qualification matches, twenty-four in the league stage, and three in the finals), Stefan and his teammates suffered only three defeats.

The finals began on Friday, 28 April 2023. The MEGA MIS club defeated Džoker from Sombor with a score of 99:69, and on Saturday, 29 April, they also defeated Borac from Čačak. On the following day, MEGA MIS once again demonstrated their team spirit, dedication, and love for the game and the club by defeating Partizan with a score of 84:77.

None of this would have been possible without functioning as one big family that operates under the principle of "all for one, one for all," led by coordinator Branimir Tadić – Tadija, coach Petar Radonjić, conditioning coach Pavle Tasić, and our physiotherapists. I want to mention all my teammates, who are primarily my friends and then my teammates and comrades who, like me, gave their all to triumph and become champions of Serbia in the cadet category: Miodrag Gačić, Vuk Popović, Luka Solomun, Andrej Davidović, Ian Lazarevski, Ognjen Nikolić, Nikola Bozilović, Ognjen Srzentić, Abdramane Sibi, Nemanja Živković, and Petar Milosavčević, said Stefan Spalević, a third-grade student of Savremena Gimnazija.
