The students of Savremena Gimnazija have once again demonstrated that humanity is a value nurtured and developed at Savremena Gimnazija.
The humanitarian action for the beneficiaries of the Drop-in centre was carried out on 23 October when a few students from Savremena Gimnazija, accompanied by their teacher Jelena Spasojević, delivered the collected school meals to the Drop-in centre.
Our students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the Drop-in centre as well as its beneficiaries. Members of the LINK kidZ & Youth Without Borders Community Club and the Student Parliament of Savremena Gimnazija also participated in collecting meals for the beneficiaries of the Drop-in centre. By participating in this activity and providing humanitarian assistance, all the students showed their support for this initiative.
With their teacher, the students visited the Drop-in centre in Novi Beograd, where the beneficiaries are children aged 5 to 15. There, they met Martina, Ana, Kiki and Azra, who were getting ready for their afternoon shift at school. They also had the chance to spend time with Savremena's students, play a game of the famous board game "Ludo" and have a chat. The main attraction was a table football set that arrived at the Drop-in centre that morning, so the boys also tried their hand at this game.
Experiences like these are truly invaluable, and once again, we have confirmed that even a small contribution from us can mean a lot to others. Therefore, we believe that we will continue with this practice in the future and experience this again.
All praise to the students and teachers – we know that this is just one more of their many good deeds.
