Stefan Erčić

Stefan Erčić, a biology teacher at Savremena Gimnazija, completed his undergraduate and master's studies at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, with a major in Biology. During his studies, he participated in various youth education programmes within student associations. After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher in numerous primary and secondary vocational schools in Šabac. As a volunteer at the NGO "Ecological uprising movement of Šabac", he organised numerous presentations and environmental conservation activities in various fields. His most extensive teaching experience was gained at the Economic School in Šabac, where he also worked as an assistant director. Through work in both domestic and international laboratories, he had the opportunity to expand his professional knowledge. His goal is to make biology more accessible to the students of Savremena Gimnazija and to inspire them to develop an awareness of the importance of environmental protection in a creative way. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, camping and traveling.

Contemporary in any sense of the word, our school offers functional knowledge and quality preparation for tertiary education in Serbia and abroad. Implementing modern and creative teaching in the classroom, where the teachers’ pedagogy and students’ performance are aligned with the highest academic standards for the high-school finals, our school develops linguistic, mathematical, scientific, artistic, cultural, technical and ICT competence, which is a prerequisite for further education and professional development. Teaching is supported by the interactive whiteboards and educational software, whereas practice exercises research and critical thinking.
