Savremena Gimnazija participated in the international conference on education EDUCATION 4.0

Savremena Gimnazija and Primary School Savremena participated in the organisation of an international online conference on new models of education during the pandemic, EDUCATION 4.0, together with the Petnica Science Centre, UNICEF, the Color Media Communications company and the British Council. The aim of this conference held on 10 February was to shed some light on the challenges facing education in the 21st century, as well as to highlight the best solutions for its improvement.

Education system in the 21st century must be flexible and adaptable

Participants in the conference emphasised the importance of digitalisation in increasing digital capacities of both students and teachers, as well as the importance of developing a distance learning system that will allow them to improve their digital skills needed to find a job in a competitive labour market. The conclusion was that schools need to establish a virtual student support system to help students overcome barriers generated by the physical environment, and create a large archive of various activities and content that students can access at any time, as well as that distance learning should not only exist during the global pandemic and other emergency situations, but also in cases when students are prevented from attending classes. This is why the education system must be flexible, not only to adapt to extreme circumstances, but also to successfully respond to the dynamics of change in the 21st century.

Savremena Gimnazija: A future-ready school that already utilises all the advantages of digitalisation

Participating in the conference EDUCATION 4.0, representatives of LINKgroup underlined that the modern educational process can be easily implemented in an online environment, whereby teachers and students play the key role, and that the unique DL platform used in Savremena Gimnazija and all schools of the LINK Edu Alliance successfully integrates 4C skills – communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, thus representing an ideal medium for the transition from an analog to a digital environment.

An important element in the transformation of the education system that has been recognised is the new educational strategy that improves the academic, digital and socio-emotional competencies of both students and teachers, enabling them to successfully master new challenges and circumstances. This strategy is a combination of many years of experience in education, and together with our well-established distance learning system, and the implementation of the latest educational technologies and teaching methods, it guarantees that Savremena Gimnazija will continue to effectively respond to all changes and successfully prepare its students for living and working in the dynamic 21st century.

I am extremely pleased and proud to be the parent of a Savremena student. During my first encounter with the school management, when I asked about my child’s potential enrolment, I saw how much love, enthusiasm and professionalism you put in your work. I was impressed by your approach, ideas and methods. I couldn’t believe something like this existed in our country! It doesn’t take long to realise that this is a school you would recommend to everyone. Creativity, modern technology, top-quality education, and most of all, the humaneness that can be seen throughout the school, make it truly different and worthy of its name – Savremena Gimnazija. With such an approach, the success of this school and, consequently, our children’s success, is unavoidable. Congratulations! Jelena Đorđević, Andrija’s mum
